- Street Harassment Hurts
Streetharassmenthurts (SHH) is an organization that is dedicated to raising awareness of street harassment in Sri Lanka. SHH’s goal is eliminate street harassment by encouraging victims and by-standers to stand up against street harassment and also by educating young children and the public on the problem and its effects on individuals and society.
SHH started in August 2014, via a poster campaign that was hugely popular on social media. The organization SHH consists of 9 young activists who are now focusing on delivering awareness programmes to children, young adults and the general public.
SHH’s vision is to see a Sri Lanka that is free from the menace of street harassment, where all individuals can use public spaces freely without fear of harassment or intimidation.
